Mix yr sources for this beaut
The 14th of the 25 shows has the only See, See Rider Blues and one of the best first and second sets. Though it's an average show overall for this run (and not the equal of the following night), since it's such a consistent run that still puts into great territory.
First Set. One of the tightest, most sparkling of the acoustic sets - it's all good-to-great. Even though at <45min it's the shortest, it may be the best of the Warfield acoustic sets (there are four from Radio City that are the best of all time) and the best Jack-a-Roe.
Second Set. Sugaree wasn't particularly as strong as it was on the previous tour (or in '79). The ship lifts off, however, for Minglewood. The balance needs adjusted on the AUD source. Jer's 1st solo is incredible. Bobby's Slide Practice™ and flubs not so much. But Jer is just ON, this set, as is obvious when he takes another measure for Peggy-O. See See Rider is solid enough for a once-a-month song. Check the balance and volume for Big Railroad, then enjoy Jer cookin' fast and spinning webs. Lazy Lightnin', like most from '80, gets going during the Supplication jam, which really shines. Stick with Deal because it turns into a whopper. It's well uptempo, even on pitch-correct sources; though it's too bad there's no decent SBD.
Third Set. Cold Rain & Snow feels like a new show warm-up. Brent actually sounds like Vince did 12yrs later on Samson. The long jam-in is nice. The next startler is the Saint of Circumstance. The vman AUD has the best first-30 and last-38 seconds, but the bershaw comp is better for the middle. The end jam piece is unique. Nobody seems that into Drums>Space, but after a sleepy He's Gone things come back around for a powerful The Other One (the bershaw source puts the He's Gone jam on the TOO track). The end pair are great. On the second Berry, Jer jumps key and all are right with him.
To Lay Me Down - the 13 from these shows are pretty similar but you can look for the tightest here and 10/30
Jack-a-Roe - just incredible playing
Deep Elem Blues - solid
Peggy-O - Jer is ON this set
Big Railroad Blues - spinning webs
Supplication - in '80, Jer dug it and dug in
Deal - turns into a whopper
Saint of Circumstance - tight and tacks on a short jam
The Other One - powerful and different than 10/30
Johnny B. Goode - best of two Berries
Casey Jones - pat enc
SOURCES: The miller_25559 has the first set SBD but skip its poor 3rd set fragment. You can also check the bershaw-composite for the 1st set. For the 2nd set and the 3rd set through Space, the best source is the vman AUD (though it problematically splits Drums into 3 tracks). For the back of the 3rd set, use the bershaw (it's pitched fast for most of the 2nd set). The Race is On is on Reckoning and El Paso is a bonus track. See See Rider Blues & Lazy Lightnin'>Supplication are on the bonus disc for Dead Set. (The intro of this Sugaree, ~30sec, is also a patch for that disc's Sugaree).

Great sound through Ripple
Nice acoustic openers, great sound...then it all falls apart after Ripple. Sound recording is either a poor soundboard or audience recording altogether.
